Contrastingly, if he walks through the mall with a woman who is not African American, all of a sudden, he becomes your property. So often, women of color will lament, "why are they taking OUR men?" Or, "there goes another one."
When a black man is seen with a non-black woman, he gets stares, sneers, jeers, and all types of gratuitous attention? When he walked alone, you paid no attention to him. Now he's your property and how dare he co-mingle with someone who is not a sister. The nerve of him; the unmitigated gall.
Unless he commands it, the black man is the most disrespected species on the planet. He is disrespected by the white man, the white woman, the Asian man and the Asian woman; the Hispanic man and woman, and even his own. This type of insolentness is nothing new; it's been the case since our ancestors were forced aboard the Adelaide, Elisabeth, Hannibal, Jesus of Lubeck, Don Francisco, the Trouvadore, and the Wanderer. Even President Obama takes more verbal and political jabs than any president in the past century.
Without a doubt, there are the 'deadbeat' brothers; those who do not carry their societal and familial weight. These wayward men don't deserve respect. However, there are deadbeats in every race, not just the black race. If you disrespect the deadbeat brother, then you need to disrespect the deadbeat white guy, because they are most certainly out there.
In a related matter, to all you Caucasian women who think all black men have secret desires to sleep with you, get over yourself. As confused as many black women are, they are still the most beautiful species of the human race; bar none.
