Trump has solidified his grip, surrounding himself with loyalists who share his megalomania and racial animus. The gateway to authoritarian rule has been opened, and those who once dismissed warnings now find themselves complicit in an unraveling democracy. Trump’s cabinet is no longer just a revolving door of incompetence; it is a curated assembly of enablers who see democracy as an obstacle to their ambitions.
My mother always warned, be careful what you ask for. I didn’t vote for this descent into fascism, and while the system never truly favored Kamala Harris, the election’s outcome was no surprise. What remains frustrating, however, is how white America repeatedly chooses its own destruction just to uphold racial hierarchies. Their disdain for Black and Brown communities blinds them to the reality that their suffering will not be spared under authoritarian rule.
History reminds us that evil carries the seed of its own destruction. Trump’s unchecked power will eventually collapse under its own weight, but not without immense suffering. The solution is not simply waiting for his demise. It requires active resistance, raising our collective energy, and rejecting the fear and division that feed his power. Meditation, prayer, and unity—acts of spiritual defiance—can counter the oppressive forces seeking to lower the world’s vibration.
The elite, the oligarchs—less than 50 white men—control vast amounts of global wealth, dictating policies that serve only themselves. Their power is neither accidental nor coincidental; it is carefully maintained through systemic suppression of the very people who could challenge them. Trump and figures like Elon Musk are not anomalies; they are symptoms of an economic and social structure designed to serve a privileged few at the expense of the many.
Trump’s dismantling of social programs, defunding of HBCUs, and elimination of aid to marginalized communities are not just political decisions—they are calculated attacks. The message is clear: fend for yourselves. And perhaps we should. The Black community, for instance, contributes billions in tithes and offerings to churches, yet sees little return on investment. If even a fraction of those funds were redirected toward economic empowerment, self-sufficiency would no longer be an aspiration but a reality.
Religious institutions have long siphoned wealth from Black communities under the guise of faith, with organizations like the Vatican benefiting immensely from global contributions. Research "Peter’s Pence," and you will see how deeply embedded financial exploitation is within religious systems. True liberation will come not from waiting for outside help but from reclaiming control of our own resources and destinies.
Martin Luther King Jr. once spoke of unearned suffering as redemptive. While he saw injustice as an opportunity to drive social change, the suffering of marginalized communities should not be romanticized. Endurance is not the goal—change is. We must channel our frustration into action, using every available means to dismantle the systems built to oppress us.
The road to authoritarianism is paved with apathy, but we still have the power to resist. We must be vigilant, strategic, and united. Black and Brown communities are not alone in this fight; all people oppressed by oligarchic rule must recognize their common enemy. The danger lies not just in Trump or Musk as individuals, but in the institutions that enable them.
This is not just about America. It is about a world increasingly controlled by those who see democracy as disposable and power as their birthright. If history has taught us anything, it is that empires built on oppression do not last forever. The question is, how much damage will be done before they fall?
We have a choice—accept subjugation or rise in defiance. The time for action is now.
