Died For Our Sins?

My associate, comrade, and adroit writer AndyLeeParker wrote:

"The degree of power to influence others that an individual possesses seems to be the determining factor in whether we say someone has been assassinated, rather than merely murdered. Jesus was definitely assassinated, because he had the power to influence the multitudes."

AndyLee further stated,

"Looking at the phenomenon of individuals dying for the sins of humanity from a Jungian perspective, the example of Jesus may serve as our modern archetype, but he was hardly the first, or the last, person to die for our collective sins."

First of all, when you're talking about Jesus you're speaking of a fictional character.

Second, "dying for the sins of humanity" is not possible for any one being, even if this particular being has been erroneously dubbed the "son of God."   It's all part of a Roman story that had been told going back at least 3000 years before the Jesus version.

Third, the "miracle birth", "born of a virgin" .. come on AndyLeeParker .. you're smarter than that.

Fourth, 3000 BCE (Before the Common Era), Horus was born of the Virgin Isis; 1200 BCE, Attis was born of the Virgin Nana; Mithras of Persia was born in a stable on December 25th; he had 12 disciples or followers; Dionysus of Greece was a traveling teacher, he turned water into wine, was dead for 3 days and resurrected.

Sound familiar?

In his letters, 'Saint Paul' wrote that Jesus would return at a time when "we also are still alive," referring to the people the apocryphal Jesus was addressing at the time, over 2000 years ago. Those people have transitioned and reincarnated myriad times, but still, Jesus Christ has not - and will not - returned.

A person cannot "return" if he never existed. Try as many Christians might, to keep the legendary mythical character alive, more and more people are waking up to the stark reality that the protagonist of the Christian religion is a combination of impossible elements.
