A few decades before that, we survived the 1977 AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos. The Rob Lytle fumble that wasn't called. The late-great, hard-hitting safety Jack Tatum, stuck Lytle, ball pops out, Raiders recover. There was no instant replay, Denver was at home, referees gave the ball back to Denver, awarded the touchdown that gave them the win. The Broncos went on to lose to Dallas 27-10 in Super Bowl XII.
Last but not least we survived the Marcus Allen, Al Davis personal feud that ended with Marcus being traded to our arch nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs. Say it ain't so Al... say it ain't so.
Even in my personal life, it was my love for the Oakland Raiders that, at the age of 15, sent me from Dallas, Tx back to my biological mom and my birthplace - Oakland, CA - because of an evangelical moment that (in hindsight) drastically altered the course of my life. RIP mom [adoptive mom, my guardian angel], I love you dearly.
Through it all, I remained a loyal fan. Those people who know me, will attest to the fact that I've always represented the 'Silver and Black'. So it goes without saying that I have a very heavy heart today. But it's a sadness immersed in joy because we have eradicated a cancer from Raider Nation.
During the Trump Era, I found out that a good percentage of Raider fans, were not fans of equality. So Jon Gruden's resignation is bittersweet. We had a racist, misogynist, anti-gay charlatan, who would have been running the show for the next 6 years at least.

I'm a firm believer in spirit, the spiritual realm, and the fact that we are vibrational beings that cannot die. Therefore, I can say that it was AL Davis, operating from a higher plane, that said, "Enough is enough Jon, I fired (traded) you once, don't think I can't do it again."
Al Davis returned as the Autumn Wind and came back to get him. Never forget... the dead are not powerless!
