Hashtags Won’t Save You

Black America is exhausted... exhausted by the endless parade of senators, pundits, and keyboard warriors stating the obvious: Donald Trump is the most corrupt politician in modern history. We know. Everyone knows. Yet the same tired cycle continues - tweets, Instagram rants, Facebook posts - loud proclamations in digital echo chambers that do absolutely nothing to change reality. You're not confronting power. You're not shaking the system. You're just preaching to people who already agree with you while the architects of tyranny... CEOs, oligarchs, billionaires, and think tanks like the Heritage Foundation... continue dismantling democracy brick by brick. They’re not watching your TikToks. They’re not scrolling through your threads. They don’t care what you post. They are writing the rules, stacking the courts, funding the chaos, and laughing while you play activist from behind a screen.

Meanwhile, Trump is operating with impunity, doing whatever he pleases, whenever he pleases, because the institutions meant to stop him have either surrendered or sold out.

Let’s be honest: it’s not Black folks’ job to fix this. We didn’t create this monster. We didn’t fuel this hatred. We didn’t empower these white supremacists, religious extremists, and corporate overlords. And we sure as hell aren’t the ones keeping them in power. You want change? Then stop looking at us. White America... senators, citizens, influencers, and suburban fence-sitters alike... it's your turn to stand up and actually do something. Not tomorrow. Not next election. Now.

The truth is harsh but undeniable: if Trump, the Heritage Foundation, or any of these traitorous politicians were Black, the crisis would’ve ended a century ago. Justice would’ve come with fire and fury. But because they’re cloaked in whiteness and wealth, y’all hesitate. Y’all post. Y’all debate. And the machine rolls on.

So hear this loud and clear: we’re tired. We’re done. The weight of this democracy is not ours to carry alone. If you truly care... if you believe in freedom, fairness, and the future, then rise up, step out, and shut it down. Because hashtags won't save you. Only courage will.
