The Power to Collapse the System

For over four centuries, Black America has endured the unrelenting hostility of white America. The abolition of slavery did not mark true freedom; it merely rebranded oppression. When free labor was no longer legal, it morphed into Jim Crow, redlining, mass incarceration, and other systems designed to keep Black people in a position of servitude. The goal has never changed... white America has wanted Black bodies for labor, entertainment, and service, but never for full equality or shared power.

From plantations to the stage, from the kitchen to the sports arena, the same pattern persists: white America tolerates Black presence only when it serves white comfort and profit. As long as we are cooking their meals, cleaning their homes, raising their children, singing their songs, or scoring their points, we are “acceptable.” But the moment we assert independence or demand justice, the tolerance evaporates.

The time has come for Black America to declare, unequivocally, enough is enough. We must stop financing our own oppression. Every month, more than eight billion dollars leaves Black pockets in the form of tithes, donations, and offerings to a religious structure that has historically been a tool of control. Christianity in America - particularly as marketed to Black communities - has often been less about salvation and more about siphoning resources. As Malcolm X warned, we have been bamboozled. Our financial power is immense, but scattered. Redirecting it toward our own institutions, our own businesses, and our own future is the first step toward liberation.

Unity is what they fear most. Even a partial coalition - 70% of us acting in concert - could shake the foundation of white America. Imagine the impact if we refused to pour our money into their system. No more buying tickets to their movies, no more fine dining unless it’s in a Black-owned establishment, no more casually feeding the very machine that profits from our pain. Our collective withdrawal from their economy would be more devastating than any protest march. If we truly pulled our dollars, America’s system would crack under the pressure.

Until the political tide turns - especially with Trump’s tightening grip on Washington, D.C. - our safest and most strategic move is calculated withdrawal. Go to work, come home, buy your groceries, support your own, and stay out of the streets unless it’s for a purpose that advances our cause. Celebrate and unwind at home. Stop giving them reasons to exploit, target, or distract us. This isn’t about hiding in fear—it’s about applying pressure where it hurts most: their bottom line.

There will be those who say, “I work hard, I deserve to enjoy myself,” but that mindset is short-sighted. Every dollar we spend outside our community strengthens the very system that holds us down. Every indulgence in the status quo is a missed opportunity to shift the balance of power. Self-control today can mean self-determination tomorrow.

We hold the power to control our destiny, but only if we act with discipline and unity. White America has never wanted to see us truly free. That is exactly why we must make freedom inevitable... not by asking for it, but by making the system that denies it unsustainable. The day we decide to stand together economically, America as we know it will change forever.
