Fundamentalism is defined as an "unwavering attachment to a set of
irreducible beliefs; characterized by a markedly strict literalism as
applied to certain specific scriptures, dogmas, or ideologies, and a
strong sense of the importance of maintaining ingroup and outgroup
distinctions."
There is the possibility of a "divine presence that orchestrates the
universe."
Such an entity would not just govern this one miniscule
planet called Earth, amongst sextillions of 'goldilocks' planets. Goldilocks planets are planets that are not too far away, not too
close, but just far enough away from it's closest star to support and
maintain intelligent life (the Sun is our closest star inside of our
solar system; the solar system is only one planetary system of trillions
that exist in the local group of galaxies - the 'local group' is about
30 galaxies that include the Milky Way and Andromeda).
The probability of an enlightened presence does exist, but it
certainly would not be the Deity that is depicted in the various holy
books; the one that plays favorites; the one that has a "chosen people."
Asking any human being, from Albert Einstein to Billy Graham, to
describe what could be a multidimensional, omnipotent, non-human
presence, from a three-dimensional perspective is tantamount to asking a
fish to describe water. It can't be done, regardless of what you may
read in the archaic holy books that were written and collated by man (see the Council of Nicaea, 325 AD).
The late British philosopher, logician, mathematician, historian, social critic and political activist, Bertrand Russell stated:
"And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have
such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His
existence."
People fail to do independent study where religion and spirituality
are concerned and are afraid to think and study outside of the primitive
religious box they were placed in at birth.
The author was raised in a Christian home, both mom and dad were
devout Christians. However, even as a kid, none of the pious hyperbole
made sense to me. What was proselytized was not in sync with the
behavior of the people in church, including the pastor. So at 15 years
of age, I began to study and research Christianity.
The more I read, the more I delved into the macabre, sordid, and
tragic history of this belief system, I could no longer refer to myself as
Christian; no way, no how!
Taskeinc is not an Atheist, he subscribes to no religion and no political party.
As Jordan Maxwell stated, "the more you begin to investigate, what
you think you know, what you've been told, the more you will see that
you've been lied to, and religion is at the bottom of the dirt."
