Who Speaks For Planet Earth

It's very easy to be pessimistic about the welfare of our planet when one clearly sees the "writing on the wall", so to speak.

Here's a brief example: A few years into my 6-yr-marriage, all indicators clearly showed that my union was headed towards connubial Armageddon.

I tried to hold on to hope primarily because I could not bear the thought of losing my two phenomenal children. So I hung in there... As fate would have it, and without going through a long drawn-out story, things worked out for me and my now 25 & 26 yr old daughter and son.

The global quagmire that plagues planet earth is why I offered the aforementioned analogy.

Our planet will not fix itself. It's up to humankind.

Einstein said it best:

"We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive."

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."

"Earth is the insane asylum of the universe."

There cannot be any argument regarding the last quote. If there's any consolation, planet earth will not be the first planetary civilization to implode from within, nor will it be the last. There are too many people on this "Pale Blue Dot" who simply don't care and are too immersed in their own narcissistic world.

Think about this for a moment, if there were no bees on this planet, we would lose all the plants that bees pollinate. The oceans make up 71% of our planet and holds 96.5% of all Earth's water.

Without plants, trees, and water, life could not exist because these elements produce the oxygen that humans and wildlife breathe. There would be no rain since trees absorb water from the soil and release it through evapotranspiration (process by which water is transferred from land to the atmosphere by evaporation from the soil).

Human beings are inexplicably connected to the global ecosystem. Consequently, we must develop a new consciousness that views the earth as a single organism. This will force humanity to the come to the realization that an organism at war with itself is doomed!
